Com essa perspectiva, este livro é indicado para os cursos de licenciatura e formação continuada, pós-graduação da área do ensino da educação escolar, para pesquisadores dessa e de áreas afins e, principalmente, para aqueles que não concordam com o modelo e a estrutura de educação escolar que temos consolidada. É indicado, também, para aqueles que não acreditam que a solução para os problemas da educação virá de ideias de reformas oportunistas e/ou simplistas, como é o caso da proposta de implantação da escola de tempo integral ou a atual reforma do ensino médio que, no momento, encontra-se em processo de aprovação. Essas reformas não servem, porque buscam o novo sem abandonar o velho, o obsoleto, aquilo que não é mais aceito pelo aluno e não atende às necessidades educacionais atuais. Este livro foi escrito pensando exclusivamente na educação básica. Isso porque, com a aprovação da nossa atual Constituição Federal e a Lei de Diretrizes e Base da Educação Nacional, o Brasil comprometeu-se com a criação de uma escola pública eficiente, justa, útil e democrática. Uma escola para formar cidadãos plenos. Mas o que temos até agora, predominantemente, é uma escola cara para os cofres públicos, ineficiente, coerciva, hipócrita, odiada e rejeitada pela maioria dos jovens e crianças, principalmente por aqueles que da escola mais necessitam. Uma escola em que a violência, a agressão física e verbal a professores e alunos, já virou rotina. Enfim, uma escola que não serve mais nem para ser reformada, mas carece de ser (re)construída. Eis o desafio. Currículo: reflexões e proposição é uma obra criada para ser a primeira em uma série que perspectiva, como objetivo maior, denunciar essa escola caótica que aí está e unir forças com aqueles que pensam, para a educação no Brasil, não uma maquiagem, e sim uma revolução.
